Never a Happy Ending - Part 1

Long ago, there lived a family of nobles in the faraway land, also known as the fairyland. Across the renowned land, stories of beautiful princess bearing children for the handsome prince were heard now and then. Beautiful people roamed the land, filled with praises in the air. Everything was so perfect, with the very exception of a single prince.

He was special. His very birth brought along a drought to the neighboring villages. When he was 3, the prophet had nothing but cautions for the king and queen. At 7, he was caught dining in a beggar's home whom he considered friend. It was considered a taboo for nobles to hang out with people of such. His friend soon became imaginary as the whole family was never to be found again. During his 10th birthday, a rebellious act angered an honorable guest, and in turn led to a cold war between the once close neighbors. The prince picked up swordsmanship at an young age, but was never able to put it into good use when the offended King finally decided to start a bloodbath just when the prince turned 13. Due to the devotion in the power struggle, parents of the prince soon drifted apart, and eventually went different ways.
